The Asam-building in the old part of city Freising was built in 1695 and is now an important cultural and historical monument of Freising. Before the renovation the building housed city administration, city museum and retail shops.

During renovation Kunkel Consulting International GmbH designed the new stage machinery, stage lighting and audio systems for the theatre „Asam Hall“ with approx. 460 seats.

The design contains substantial technical improvements: the currently almost unusable orchestra pit will be equipped with electromechanically movable platform. This platform can be lowered to create orchestra pit, lifted to the auditorium level to arrange seats or lifted to the stage level to be used as apron stage.

The renovation has been conducting in phases and should be carried out in line with heritage protection requirements.
