The building complex of the former opera workshops near northern railway station is scheduled to be ready by mid-2019. The rebuilt complex will become central campus of the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art.
In the fly tower of the building two black box stages will be arranged above each other. Furthermore the building will accomodate 20 seminar rooms, workshops, library, administrative area, cafe and storage rooms.
Kunkel Consulting International GmbH has designed the following systems for the Academy of Dramatic Arts: stage lighting, audio and media systems, including sound studio, paging and stage management system, as well as steelwork for stage technology, stage floors on studio stages and in the rehearsal rooms, overstage machinery with control system for one studio stage, mobile auditorium platforms, lifting facilities and platform in the delivery area outside the building.
